Our Story.

How a 400-square-foot studio on the Lower East Side turned into an American ready-to-wear label.

How We Started

Clothes Good Enough to Buy Once.

Astor Lane started with a simple frustration: too many wardrobes are full of clothes that fall apart after a season. We set out to build the opposite — pieces cut from mill-grade fabric, sewn with reinforced seams, and tested on our own team before they ever reached a customer.

Eleven years later, that idea hasn't changed. We still work with the same handful of mills, still produce in small batches, and still stand behind every seam with a 30-day return and a repair-first philosophy.

How We Work

What Makes It Different

Mill-Direct Fabric

We buy fabric directly from mills we've worked with for years, cutting out the markup that comes with middlemen.

Small-Batch Runs

Most styles are produced in runs of 200–400 pieces, which keeps quality control tight and waste low.

In-House Testing

Every style is worn and washed by our own team for at least four weeks before it goes into production.

Repair, Not Replace

Send worn pieces back for repair at a flat fee — we'd rather fix a coat than sell you a new one.
